Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Smiles and greets customers, answers customer questions and helps resolve customer concerns promptly, in a polite and professional manner.
• Operates front end scanning equipment and cash register.
• Performs checkout procedures including bagging merchandise and placing merchandise in customer’s cart.
• Maintains accuracy during the transaction, ensuring the customer is charged for all items and appropriate funds are collected.
• Maintains proper security measures and cash drawer accounting procedures.
• Follows store and legal guidelines regarding sale of tobacco and alcohol.
• Maintains knowledge of weekly ads and promotions and store layout to answer customer questions.
• Responsible for general sanitation in the department.
• Follows cleaning schedules and health/OSHA requirements.
• Disposes of trash properly.
• Ensures smooth function by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors.
• May assist in other departments.
