Job summary

Kroger Castle Rock is seeking a friendly Cashier/Checker to greet customers, process transactions accurately at the checkout, and deliver outstanding service in a fast-paced environment. You will handle cash, checks, debit/credit, SNAP, EBT, coupons, and loyalty offers while ensuring accuracy, adherence to policies, and safe, clean shopping experiences for all customers.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
• Previous experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the checkout area.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Handle cash, checks, debit/credit, SNAP/EBT, WIC, coupons and loyalty offers per policy.
• Understand and follow cash-handling limits and prevent loss.
• Adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator and follow postage/gift card procedures.
• Stay current with ads and seasonal promotions; follow food safety regulations.
• Support safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment and communicate repair needs to the appropriate department or store manager.
• Answer questions to help customers find products and feel welcome.
• Comply with local, state and federal laws and company policies.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Handle inquiries from minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults with care.
