Responsibilities

• Greeting and assisting customers at the check lanes in a visible and welcoming manner.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand the POS system and handle cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons and checkout procedures as per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and work to prevent loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment and answer questions about products in-store.
• Comply with local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Maintain composure in fast-paced or stressful situations.
• Handle conflicts calmly and cooperatively.
• Be honest and protect customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Support minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed.
• Perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
