Responsibilities

• Greeting, engaging and assisting customers in the check lane.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, coupons) per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and work to prevent loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Support safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment and notify if repairs are needed.
• Create a welcoming environment by answering product questions across the store.
• Comply with local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environments.
• Handle conflicts in a calm, respectful manner.
• Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults via direct interaction.
