Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies in Gardnerville, NV is seeking a Cashier/Checker to greet customers, process transactions quickly and accurately at the checkout, and help maintain a safe, clean store environment that invites repeat visits.

You will handle cash, checks, credit/debit, coupons, and loyalty offers using the POS system, adhere to policies on restricted items, report pricing discrepancies, and support colleagues in a fast paced setting.

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers in the store.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently at the checkout.
• Understand the POS system and handle tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, vouchers, coupons).
• Adhere to company policy on cash shortages/overages and loss prevention.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for stamps, gift cards and coupons.
• Provide customer assistance and stay current with ads and promotions.
