Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greet customers cheerfully upon entry and thank them as they leave. Assist customers with questions and provide quality customer service.
• Retrieve shopping carts safely and efficiently, ensuring carts are not left in parking areas and are taken from the cart corral to the store front for customer use. Empty debris from carts and take defective carts out of service.
• Help customers by loading groceries into their vehicles.
• Maintain cleanliness in the parking lot, store vestibule, and front-end area. Empty and replace trash and recycling receptacles as needed.
• Stay alert to safety issues, especially at entrance and exit areas, ensuring they are unobstructed and slip hazards are minimized.
• Assist cashiers by bagging groceries as needed. Respond promptly to intercom pages. Perform cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, restroom and break room cleaning, replenishing supplies, and waste disposal.
• If over 18 and trained (training provided), operate cleaning equipment and maintain it in good repair.
• Help keep the sales floor safe by removing slip and trip hazards and clearing sidewalks and porches of snow and ice. Dispose of trash and debris properly.
• Report repair or maintenance needs and unsafe conditions to management. Notify management when supplies need replenishing.
• Contribute to department and store operations by cooperating with coworkers and supervisors. Strive for continuous job performance improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or GED preferred; no prior experience required. Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily.
