Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Greet customers cheerfully as they enter and thank them as they leave. Answer questions and assist to ensure quality customer service.
2. Retrieve shopping carts safely and efficiently, ensure they are not left in parking areas, and take defective carts out of service.
3. Help customers load groceries into their vehicles.
4. Maintain cleanliness of parking lot, store vestibule, and front-end. Empty and replace trash and recycling receptacles.
5. Remain alert to safety issues, especially at entrances and exits, to prevent hazards.
6. Assist cashiers by bagging groceries. Respond to intercom pages. Perform cleaning duties including sweeping, washing, mopping, and restroom sanitation.
7. Operate cleaning equipment if trained and over 18. Maintain equipment in good condition.
8. Keep the sales floor safe from slip and trip hazards and clear sidewalks and porches of snow and ice.
9. Report repairs, maintenance needs, and unsafe conditions to management. Notify when supplies are needed.
10. Cooperate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth department operations and improve job performance.
11. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred; no prior experience required.
