Job summary

Family Dollar in Hickman, Kentucky is seeking a Customer Service Associate to deliver a great shopping experience for every customer. You will assist customers with questions and recommendations, manage sales transactions at the register, and help keep the store stocked and presentable.

This part-time position requires good organizational and communication skills, the ability to lift 30–50 lbs, and a friendly, professional demeanor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in retail customer service highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operating documents is required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision‑making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment in accordance with productivity standards.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out the trash, and ensuring all areas are neat and presentable.
