ShopRite in Cromwell, CT is seeking a Customer Service/Courtesy Counter Clerk to provide friendly, efficient service at the front end and assist with secretarial tasks as needed.

The role requires strong English communication, basic math, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Candidates should be reliable, team-oriented, and comfortable standing all day in a fast-paced store environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand or walk for the duration of a shift.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and safe work environment.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Enter customer information for program eligibility.
• Operate the cash register and handle cash procedures.
• Know product locations and assist customers with questions.
• Handle returns and process rain checks as needed.
• Perform price checks and issue refunds and cards as directed.
• Maintain and report equipment issues; follow safety procedures.
• Dress according to policy and participate in training programs.
