Job summary

ShopRite of Southbury in Southbury, CT is seeking a Customer Service/Courtesy Clerk (Grade A) to deliver a friendly, accurate shopping experience at the front end. You will scan, price and bag products, process payments, and assist customers with inquiries and returns in a professional manner.

The role requires strong English, basic math, the ability to stand for long shifts, and the physical ability to lift up to 25–50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk for a full shift.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly way.

• Ability to work all assigned schedules and follow attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, safe work environment.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Enter customer information into database for eligibility of Wakefern programs.
• Understand operation of cash register and follow cash handling procedures.
• Know product locations and assist customers.
• Handle returns per policy.
• Answer phones professionally and direct as policy dictates.
• Promote current promotions to customers.
