Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Store Associate in Salt Lake City, UT to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain a safe, clean store environment. You will assist department management in reaching sales and profit goals while upholding quality standards and the company’s Customer 1st strategy.

You will help customers, stock and label products, monitor freshness, and ensure accurate pricing while following safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Effective communication skills (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Recommend grocery items to customers and inform them of specials.
• Check product quality, freshness, and dates; take action as needed.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise; provide fresh products.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and temperature logs.
• Reinforce safety programs and identify unsafe conditions.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of needed repairs.
• Notify management of accidents and report safety risks or illegal activity.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.
