Job summary

KLA in Boise, Idaho is seeking a technical applications engineer to support the development and implementation of KLA products in customer fabrication facilities. You will make presentations on product aspects and assist sales in assessing applications to meet customer requirements.

You will implement customer installation plans, provide follow‑up training, and communicate between customers and specialists.

Qualifications

  • MS/Ph.D. preferred in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Optics, Material Science or related field.
  • Experience in the semiconductor fabrication industry or equivalent.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Persistence and dedication to solving critical customer problems.
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills.
  • Teamwork with balance between technical and people skills.
  • Experience with data analysis tools (Excel, JMP or equivalent).
  • Photolithography and Overlay (IBO, DBO, SEM-OVL); cleanroom familiarity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical applications support for development and implementation of KLA products in customer facilities.
  • Make presentations on all aspects of products.
  • Assist sales in assessing product applications to meet customer requirements.
  • Prepare detailed product specifications and install plans.
  • Provide follow-up training and disseminate technical information to customers.
  • Work on complex problems requiring in-depth evaluation and communication between customers and specialists.
  • Exercise judgment within defined practices to obtain results.

Job Description / Preferred Qualifications
  • Responsible for providing technical applications support for the development and implementation of KLA products in customer fabrication facilities
  • Makes presentations on all aspects of products
  • Assists sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer technical requirements and preparing detailed product specifications
  • Implements customer installation plans
  • Provides follow-up support in training customers and disseminating technical information on specific applications
  • Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in depth evaluation, design of experiments, and communication between customers and specialists
  • Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS / Ph.D. preferred in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Optics, Material Science or a related field.
  • Candidate should have experience in the semiconductor fabrication industry, or equivalent experience and education
  • Candidate must be well organized and professional with strong project management skills - including the ability to manage numerous projects at once
  • Candidate shows persistence and dedication to understanding and solving critical customer problems
  • Candidate will have strong analytical problem solving skills
  • Teamwork is critical so having a good balance between technical skills and people skills is a must.
  • Experience with Data analysis tools (Excel, JMP or equivalent)
  • Semiconductor device application and characterization
  • Photolithography and Overlay (IBO, DBO, SEM -OVL)
  • Familiar with cleanroom protocols.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's Level Degree and 0 years related work experience; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 2 years

Base Pay Range: $83,100.00 - $141,300.00 Annually

Primary Location: USA-ID-Boise-KLA
