Job summary

The Children’s Place in West Des Moines, IA is seeking a Sales Associate to support the Store Leadership Team in achieving company goals. You will model exceptional customer service, use product knowledge, and apply effective selling techniques to drive results.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous retail experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Be aware of customer activity and respond with a sense of urgency, prioritizing assisting customers over other tasks.
• Greet and acknowledge customers while providing the appropriate level of service.
• Effectively communicate value and quality of our merchandise while sharing promotions and offer solutions for out-of-stock items.
• Exercise sound judgment in addressing customer concerns.
• Demonstrate selling skills to positively impact conversion.
• Provide fast, friendly service at the cashwrap and educate customers on the PLACE Card.
• Maintain stock levels and ensure sizes/styles are represented.
• Follow standards of merchandise presentation, signage, and display.
• Maintain a neat, clean stockroom and adhere to a customer-ready environment and safety requirements.
• Perform daily housekeeping duties to company standard.
• Protect company assets by following Loss Prevention procedures.
• Inform Store Leadership of maintenance and facility needs to ensure a clean and safe environment.
• Contribute toward store goals with focused, well-managed efforts.
• Be flexible by processing stock when necessary.
