Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Good verbal communication skills; ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Process financial transactions including, but not limited to; cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, bottle refunds, voids, and coupons accurately and in accordance with company policy.
• Assist in receiving, unloading and stocking products in required areas of the store.
• Front-end duties such as running the cash register, suggestive selling, enrolling guests in loyalty program, maintaining a clean and neat service area.
• Ensure proper use of product identification and PLUs; report errors in pricing or signage.
• Maintain understanding of current store programs and product locations.
• Communicate store programs and in-store specials to customers, and model high standards of service.
• Follow all PPE, safety and food safety guidelines; assist with other departments as needed.
