Kroger in Angleton, TX is hiring for a Cashier/Checker to provide outstanding customer service and maintain a safe, clean environment. You will greet customers, process transactions, and ensure compliance with company policies and food safety standards.

The role requires accuracy with POS, cash handling, and ability to work in a fast-paced store setting. On-site position with flexible scheduling and opportunities for growth within The Kroger Family of Companies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers in-store.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the checkout.
• Understand the POS system and handle cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC and coupons per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and work to prevent loss and shrink.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions or incidents.
