Job summary

Alstom Gruppe in New York City seeks a Customer Director to lead strategic account management and customer relationship initiatives across the East Coast.

You will collaborate with Sales, Tendering, and Project Management to drive customer satisfaction, grow revenue, and ensure profitable project execution. The role requires extensive experience in complex tenders and a customer-centric leadership style.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 10+ years in CRM and strategic account management.

Responsibilities

  • Grow business by selling to existing customers and spotting new opportunities.
  • Serve as the main customer contact and primary authority on issues.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and measure it regularly.
  • Lead negotiations during tender phases and support project execution teams.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Tendering, and Project Management to deliver profitable projects.
  • Lead BOR, Go/No Go, and Tender Review Meetings and ensure cross-functional alignment.

Your future role

"Take on a new challenge and apply your customer relationship management and strategic business development expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dedicated and collaborative teammates.
You'll drive customer satisfaction and loyalty while growing business opportunities and ensuring project profitability. Day‑to‑day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (including Sales, Tendering, and Project Management), champion a customer‑centric culture, and contribute to negotiations during the tender phase—and much more."

We’ll look to you for:
  • Growing business by selling existing or new products to existing customers to maximize revenue and profits, ,
  • Acting as the main point of contact for customers and being the primary authority on all customer issues, ,
  • Securing and regularly measuring customer satisfaction, ,
  • Contributing to negotiations during the tender phase, ,
  • Partnering with the Project Managers to ensure the success of project execution, ,
  • Leading commercial discussions to support project execution teams resolve issues that protect business interests and maintain customer satisfaction, ,
  • Applying ALSTOM rules on ethics and compliance in all selling and customer management activities, ,
  • Identifying new business opportunities with customers, understanding their needs, and gathering key data, including budgets, ,
  • Leading the Business Opportunity Review (BOR), Go/No Go, and Tender Review Meetings (TRM), ,
  • Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to foster a customer‑centric culture and achieve strategic business development goals.

  • Proven ability to lead negotiations,
  • Experience with complex tender management,

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Skilled in contributing to cross-functional team success during project execution phases,
