Job summary

Compass is seeking a Commission Specialist for our Charlotte or Raleigh Financial Services team. You will reconcile and process commissions for real estate closings, ensuring accuracy and timely completion while supporting day-to-day operations and responding to agent inquiries.

You will issue payments, track deductions, work with the Product & Engineering team to improve the commission system, and generate ad-hoc reporting.

Qualifications

• BA or BS degree required.
• Real estate license required.
• 2+ years in accounting or payroll; commissions or sales environment preferred.
• Strong teamwork and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and strong numerical skills.
• Be comfortable with new system rollouts.

Responsibilities

• Issue commission payments to agents, tracking referrals and deductions.
• Process closed transactions using a real estate transaction system.
• Collaborate with Product & Engineering to improve the real estate transaction system.
• Ensure commission calculations are correct and compliant with policy.
• Respond to commission inquiries impacting the monthly close.
• Process stop payments and corrections on agent checks.
• Provide support to agents regarding payouts, deductions and calculations.
• Answer agents and sales managers promptly.
• Process changes to agent commission splits and generate ad-hoc reporting.
• Validate accuracy of commission calculations and records across systems.

Note: This is a hybrid position (in-office 1 day every other week).

As a Commission Specialist, you will be an integral member of our dynamic and growing Charlotte OR Raleigh Financial Services team. You will assume responsibility for reconciling and processing commissions for sales and rental real estate closings. You will ensure accuracy and timely completion of all commission processing. You will play a critical role in the company's day-to-day operations, interacting daily with agents and the Finance and Accounting teams.

At Compass, You Will

• Issue commission payments to agents, while tracking referral payments and agent deductions


• Process closed transactions using a real estate transaction system


• Collaborate with the Product & Engineering Team to help us build a better real estate transaction system


• Ensure all commission calculations are correct and compliant with policy


• Partner with the Accounting team to research and respond to commission inquiries impacting the monthly financial statement close


• Request stop payment on agent commission checks and process any corrections and adjustments


• Provide support to agents in response to inquiries regarding commission payouts, deductions, and commission calculations


• Be prompt in answering correspondence from the agents and sales managers


• Process changes to agent commission splits and generate ad-hoc agent financial reporting


• Navigate company systems to validate accuracy of commission calculations and records

What We Look For
