Job summary

Compass is seeking a Commission Specialist to reconcile and process agent commissions for real estate closings. You will work with Finance, agents, and product teams to ensure accurate payments and timely reporting.

The ideal candidate has a BA/BS, real estate license, and 2+ years in accounting/payroll with a strong focus on commissions. This hybrid role includes collaboration across departments and a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Issue commission payments to agents and track referrals and deductions.
• Process closed transactions in the real estate transaction system.
• Collaborate with Product & Engineering to improve the transaction system.
• Ensure commissions are calculated correctly and policy-compliant.
• Support Accounting with inquiries impacting monthly close.
• Request stop payments and process corrections/adjustments.
• Assist agents with inquiries on payouts, deductions, and calculations.
• Respond promptly to agents and sales managers.

Note: This is a hybrid position (in-office 1 day every other week)

As a Commission Specialist, you will be an integral member of our dynamic and growing Charlotte OR Raleigh Financial Services team. You will assume responsibility for reconciling and processing commissions for sales and rental real estate closings. You will ensure accuracy and timely completion of all commission processing. You will play a critical role in the company's day-to-day operations, interacting daily with agents and the Finance and Accounting teams.

At Compass, You Will:

• Issue commission payments to agents, while tracking referral payments and agent deductions
• Process closed transactions using a real estate transaction system
• Collaborate with the Product & Engineering Team to help us build a better real estate transaction system
• Ensure all commission calculations are correct and compliant with policy
• Partner with the Accounting team to research and respond to commission inquiries impacting the monthly financial statement close
• Request stop payment on agent commission checks and process any corrections and adjustments
• Provide support to agents in response to inquiries regarding commission payouts, deductions, and commission calculations
• Be prompt in answering correspondence from the agents and sales managers
• Process changes to agent commission splits and generate ad hoc agent financial reporting
• Navigate company systems to validate accuracy of commission calculations and records
