Job summary

Compass Real Estate - Peninsula seeks a Commission Specialist to reconcile and process commissions for sales and rental closings. You will ensure accuracy and timely completion of all commission processing while collaborating with agents, Finance, and Accounting teams.

You will interact daily with agents and internal teams, supporting inquiries, handling commission payments, and validating calculations. This role reports to the Financial Services group and contributes to ongoing system

Qualifications

• BA or BS degree required.
• Real estate license required.
• 2+ years in accounting or payroll; commissions or sales environment preferred.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong quantitative skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Proficient in Google Suite.
• Impeccable attention to detail and solid customer service instincts.
• Be comfortable with new system rollouts.
• Prior experience in real estate.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile and process commissions for sales and rental real estate closings.
• Ensure accuracy and timely completion of commission processing.
• Issue commission payments to agents and track referrals.
• Process closed transactions using a real estate transaction system.
• Collaborate with Product & Engineering to build an improved real estate transaction system.
• Ensure commission calculations are correct and compliant with policy.
• Partner with Accounting to respond to commission inquiries impacting monthly close.
• Request stop payments on agent commission checks and process corrections.
• Provide support to agents regarding payouts, deductions, and calculations.
• Be prompt in answering correspondence from agents and sales managers.
• Process changes to agent commission splits and generate ad hoc agent financial reporting.
• Validate accuracy of commission calculations and records in company systems.

As a Commission Specialist, you will be an integral member of our dynamic and growing Financial Services team. You will assume responsibility for reconciling and processing commissions for sales and rental real estate closings. You will ensure accuracy and timely completion of all commission processing. You will play a critical role in the company's day-to-day operations, interacting daily with agents and the Finance and Accounting teams.

At Compass, You Will

• Issue commission payments to agents, while tracking referral payments and agent deductions
• Process closed transactions using a real estate transaction system
• Collaborate with the Product & Engineering Team to help us build a better real estate transaction system
• Ensure all commission calculations are correct and compliant with policy
• Partner with the Accounting team to research and respond to commission inquiries impacting the monthly financial statement close
• Request stop payment on agent commission checks and process any corrections and adjustments
• Provide support to agents in response to inquiries regarding commission payouts, deductions, and commission calculations
• Be prompt in answering correspondence from the agents and sales managers
• Process changes to agent commission splits and generate ad hoc agent financial reporting
• Navigate company systems to validate accuracy of commission calculations and records

Compensation:

The base pay range for this position is $30.58-$33.99/hr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonuses and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits. Base pay is based on market location. The minimum wage for the position will always be met.
