Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking a frontline Collections/Customer Service role in the Pennsylvania Electric Company unit. You will engage customers, explain payment options, and help resolve delinquent accounts while adhering to safety and operational policies.

You will balance cash transactions, verify data, and may coordinate with CARES for assistance; driving or traveling across districts may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; related experience preferred.
• Ability to follow safety rules and operate professionally in a field service role.
• Strong communication with customers and accurate data handling.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety rules and company policies.
• Communicates with customers about delinquent balances and payment arrangements; may disconnect/reconnect service.
• Refer to CARES for counseling and payment assistance programs.
• Balance daily customer transactions and follow cash handling procedures.
• Verify data on checks and stubs; forward to appropriate personnel for processing.
• Report safety concerns about meters, meters sockets, and lines.
• Train and guide other employees as required.
• Perform related duties, including occasional driving or transport tasks.
• Be able to work across multiple districts and non-standard hours to maximize collections.
