Safeway in Oregon is seeking a Front-End Team Member to support checkout operations, assist customers, and ensure accurate purchases.

You will scan items, handle transactions, bag groceries, answer questions, and keep the front end clean and organized throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be 16+ (or 18+ depending on local/state requirements)
• Completion of cashier/front-end training upon hire
• Basic math and communication skills
• Flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Prior customer service experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Assist customers at checkout and answer questions
• Process purchases using cash, card, and digital payments
• Maintain accuracy in scanning and pricing
• Balance registers and count change as needed
• Keep front-end area clean, organized, and stocked
• Assist with bagging, cart retrieval, and general upkeep
• Follow company policies and checkout procedures
• Adapt to changing tasks and customer flow
• Stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
• Work indoors and outdoors as needed
