Job summary

SpartanNash’s Family Fare in Holland, MI is seeking a part-time retail associate to display and stock products while assisting guests with transactions and loyalty enrollment. The role focuses on delivering a positive guest experience in a safe, clean store environment.

You will operate the cash register, follow pricing signage, and support department flight plans. Prior retail experience is preferred, with a People First culture guiding daily work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• One year of prior retail or related experience preferred.
• Good verbal communication skills; ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.
• Good customer service and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, bottle refunds, voids, and coupons accurately.
• Assist in receiving, unloading and stocking products in required areas of the store.
• Run the cash register, suggestive selling (lottery, etc.), enroll guests in loyalty program, maintain a clean service area.
• Ensure proper use of product identification and PLU's; report pricing or signage errors.
• Maintain understanding of store programs and product locations; assist in department flight plan execution.
• Communicate loyalty programs, in-store specials and coupons to customers; model high standards of service.
• Follow company policies on security, cash handling, product handling, alcohol and tobacco sales, etc.
