Job summary

Houchens Ace Hardware in York County, PA is hiring a Floor Associate to engage customers, stock merchandise, and support daily store operations. You will unload trucks, maintain departments, and help drive sales while delivering excellent customer service.

The role requires strong communication, a team spirit, and flexibility including evenings and weekends. Bilingual Spanish skills are strongly preferred to assist a diverse customer base.

Qualifications

• Able to communicate professionally with customers and team members.
• Skilled at providing prompt, friendly and attentive customer service.
• Strong organizational skills with a passion for details.
• Willing to learn all areas of the store and help train others.
• Proven track record of being a team player.
• Knowledge and experience of various departments is strongly desired.
• A continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance is required.
• Availability must be flexible including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Bilingual (Spanish) verbal and written communication skills strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Help unload incoming trucks and put away merchandise and keep your department clean, organized and stocked.
• Execute daily operations and priorities with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
• Cooperate with others and participate in daily huddles, sharing ideas for improvement.
• Remove promotional tags and price tags as required after sales events.
• Restock displays, watch end caps and side wings.
• Assist customers and greet them; provide needed information and advice.
• Demonstrate the sales process and promote Ace Rewards program.
• Respond to customer questions and assist with large or heavy items as needed.
• Assist in training and development of peers.
• Other tasks as directed by supervision
