Job summary

The Kroger Company is seeking a dedicated Cashier/Checker in Westminster, CO to create an outstanding customer experience. You will greet customers, process transactions, and follow policies on payments, eligibility, and safety.

You’ll work with a POS system, handle varied tenders, and help ensure a welcoming, safe store environment that encourages customers to return. The role requires basic math skills and may benefit from prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Cashier/Checker greets, engages and assists customers.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Off. SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons).
• Adhere to limits on cash shortages/overages and control loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety programs and notify management of unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and notify for repairs.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and valued by answering product questions.
• Adhere to local, state and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment and manage conflict calmly.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
