Job summary

South Jersey Industries’ customer care team in New Jersey is seeking a dedicated Customer Service representative. You will address inquiries, process transactions, and help with billing questions while upholding BPU policies and customer satisfaction.

Starting at 20.13 USD per hour, this role may involve shift coverage to evenings and occasional travel between locations. You will join a team focused on reliable service, performance metrics, and training for peers within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Required Background: High School Diploma; applicants must pass basic skills test.
• Preferred Background: Call center experience; KPI familiarity.
• Industry Experience: Banking, Sales, Mortgage, Utility, Medical Administration, Dispatcher, Military.

Responsibilities

• Addresses and responds to all customer inquiries.
• Utilizes Company Systems to complete transactions and maintain customer accounts.
• Provides overall satisfactory customer service experience.
• Answer all customer inquiries; in person, verbal, and written per policies.
• Process To Do items in the CIS system.
• Prepare transactions to establish/update customer accounts and billing records.
• Discuss collection activity, payment arrangements, and assistance programs.
• Process, post, and balance incoming customer payments.
• Assist in training other Customer Representatives.
• Perform other customer service and clerical duties as required.
