Position Description

This position will independently perform technical clerical duties and provide administrative support to staff at The Cleveland County Wellness Square. Under supervision of Program Manager II, this position will be stationed at the Well’s reception desk, directing visitors and instructors to their scheduled classes, answering visitors’ general questions about the Well and helping with event setup and tearing down. This will also include the upkeep of the Well building and kitchen cleaning.

Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions
  • Welcomes visitors and display a courteous and professional customer service experience.
  • Answer general questions and can speak intelligently about The Well’s programs and operations.
  • Answers the phone, takes messages, and disseminates information; opens, sorts, distributes, collects, and delivers mail.
  • Maintains an inventory of equipment and supplies used in the office and coordinates deliveries.
  • Assists facility manager in scheduling trades to maintain The Well’s buildings.
  • Sweeps, dusts, mops, scrubs, washes, vacuums, waxes, and polishes building floors, walls, woodwork, windows, furniture, equipment, and hardware.
  • Cleans kitchen after event and/or class use.
  • Collects and disposes of trash and garbage; moves equipment and furniture such as tables and chairs.
  • This is the specialist level where employees will independently perform the most complex and technical duties, such as preparing presentations through manipulation of data, or preparing documents for audits or special reports.
  • Some responsibility may be assigned for the functional supervision of other employees on a limited basis.
  • Being present in the office is an essential function of this job

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a high school diploma and one year of customer service experience.

Valued Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required at this level includes knowledge of office methods and procedures, and of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and basic mathematics. Skill is required to operate office machines including computers/PCs. Ability is required to follow oral and written instructions and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Plus, knowledge of preparing and interpreting charts and graphs; of basic bookkeeping procedures; of mathematics; of inventory techniques; of telephone procedures; and of standard business communications. Ability is required to establish and maintain filing systems and to prepare documents. Plus, knowledge of current office technologies; and ability to prepare documents, reports, and files for dissemination to external sources.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Work is typically performed in an office setting with climate-controlled settings and exposure to moderate noise levels. While performing the duties of the job, employees are required to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms, and use hands to handle, control, feel objects or tools. Occasionally lifting/carrying 50 pounds, 20 pounds frequently, able to push and pull a maximum force of 40 pounds and able to lift and hold overhead up to 40 pounds. Employees must be willing to complete all job-related travel associated with this position. Being present at the office is an essential function of the job.
