Job summary

Revvity's State of FL Department of Health newborn screening lab position seeks a Customer Application Support Specialist to run Mass Spec assays and perform instrument verifications. You will troubleshoot on-site and remotely, maintain equipment, and document results with the team leader.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or related field, and Florida CL license eligibility. Shifts Mon-Sat 7am-4pm EST with comprehensive benefits offered.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Revvity Mass Spec assays in the FL lab.
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly maintenance.
  • Run yearly validation/harmonization plates.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues onsite and remotely.
  • Work with onsite service engineers when service is required.
  • Create documentation for all work performed.
  • Engage Customer Service to assist with orders.
  • Transition knowledge via documentation and communication.
  • Produce and maintain customer training material.
  • Assist in standards and improvements for efficiency and turnaround.
  • Assist in special projects for instrumentation configuration.
  • Proactively communicate status of projects to the Team Leader.
  • Train new and current employees in procedures and SFDC.
  • Deliver deadlines with proactive status reports.

Job description

The Customer Application Support Specialist is responsible for running multiple assays and maintaining the QSight Mass spec systems at the State of FL Department of Health Newborn screening lab in a manner that meets or exceeds customer satisfaction and quality expectations. The Application Specialist will run the customer assays and any required yearly instrument verifications as well as new assay validations. The successful candidate will provide technical feedback to the Mass Spec Senior Principal Scientists regarding product development, be able to troubleshoot Mass Spec issues both onsite and remotely, and open F1 complaints when required for investigation by manufacturing. Monday - Saturday alternating shifts, 7am to 4pm EST.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Position to work in the FL Department of Public Health lab as the lab technician for Mass Spec.
  • Running Revvity Mass Spec Assays.
  • Performing daily, weekly and monthly maintenance.
  • Running yearly validation/harmonization plates.
  • Troubleshooting, resolving, and testing technical issues for products assigned by the Team Leader.
  • Working with onsite service engineers when service is required.
  • Creating appropriate documentation for all work performed.
  • Engaging Customer Service to assist with technical reviews of equipment orders.
  • Transitioning knowledge to other team members through documentation and communication.
  • Producing and maintaining customer training material.
  • Assisting in the creation of technical support standards and improvements that increase efficiency and improve turnaround times and customer satisfaction.
  • Assisting in special projects such as optimization and configuration of new instrumentation for individual assays.
  • Proactively communicating status of special projects and unresolved issues to the Team Leader.
  • Training new and current employees in procedures and policies such as SFDC.
  • Delivering deadlines, proactively providing status reports, and managing tasks from inception through completion with consistent supervisory guidance.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Biochemistry, or related scientific discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Florida Clinical Laboratory License eligible.
  • Ability to follow existing SOP to run Mass Spec instrumentation.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with shared goals and responsibilities.
  • Ability to provide clear and structured written documentation.
  • Ability to perform moderate and/or highly complex analytical processes without direct supervision.
  • Excellent group interaction skills and negotiating skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with different priorities.
  • Excellent presentation skills in front of internal teams, customers, and large audience (during conferences, webinars, etc.).

The pay range for this full-time position is a salary $58,000.00 - $78,000.00 USD Annually. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The pay offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
