Job summary

Steinway & Sons is looking for a Custom Piano Technician to join our manufacturing plant in Astoria, Queens. This role involves the assembly, repair, and finishing of custom pianos, and requires strong technical and woodworking knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to craftsmanship.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with various teams to ensure high-quality piano designs and assist in the production process. Competitive salary and benefits package offered.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Cabinetry/Finish Carpentry.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and translate to parts and pianos.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Handcrafts and finishes parts for pianos using hand tools and machinery.
• Collaborate with the Special Pianos team to ensure quality designs.
• Assist in the coating of custom pianos as designed.
• Recommend and analyze materials and practices used in the project.
