Job summary

Shield Casework in Kansas City, KS is seeking hands-on fabricators to build custom casework, lockers and related products from start to finish. You will work with wood, laminate, plastics and other materials, using saws, routers, drills, sanders and other shop tools.

You will read drawings and measurements, turn plans into finished components and prep them for delivery. The role requires good attention to detail and a team-first attitude in a dynamic, custom shop environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in cabinet making, finish carpentry, custom woodworking, casework or a similar fabrication environment.
• Experience using common shop tools and fabrication equipment.
• Ability to read a tape measure and work comfortably with fractions and decimals.
• Ability to read shop or CAD drawings is a plus.
• A good eye for fit, finish and details.
• A willingness to learn, take direction and also work independently.
• A team-first attitude and willingness to jump in where the work needs to get done.

Responsibilities

• Build custom cabinet work, lockers and related products from start to finish.
• Work with wood, laminate, plastics and other materials.
• Operate shop tools such as saws, routers, drills and sanders.
• Read drawings, take measurements and translate plans into finished pieces.
• Cut, assemble, finish and prep components for completed builds.
• Collaborate with the shop team to keep projects moving progress.
• Check work quality to ensure it leaves the shop meeting standards.
• Contribute wherever needed in a true custom shop environment.
