Job summary

The Tailored Closet in Houston, TX is seeking a creative Closet Designer to transform client spaces with custom storage solutions. This role requires designing using CAD or proprietary tools, presenting proposals, and closing sales to meet revenue targets.

Ideal candidates have interior design or space planning experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage quotes and timelines while staying organized. Flexible work-from-home options are available.

Qualifications

• Experience in interior design or space planning is a plus.
• Strong consultative sales approach and customer-first mindset.
• Proficiency with design or CAD software; ability to learn proprietary tools quickly.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient with Excel, Outlook, PDFs, and CRM systems.
• Self-motivated with strong time management and organization.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for in-home consultations.
• A keen eye for aesthetics, functionality, and detail.
• Must be available 9am–6pm Monday to Friday for client meetings, two evening appointments a week and 1 Saturday a month.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients in-home or in-showroom to assess storage needs and design preferences
• Create custom closet, garage, and home organization designs using CAD or proprietary design software
• Present design proposals and product options to clients, guiding them through selections
• Develop accurate project quotes and close sales to meet revenue targets
• Coordinate with production teams to ensure designs are executed to client satisfaction
• Follow up with clients post-installation to ensure satisfaction and generate referrals
• Stay current on product lines, design trends, and home organization solutions
• Develop and grow social media presence and within the trade community.
