Job summary

NN, Inc. in Kentwood, MI seeks a CAD designer / mechanical design engineer to design, build, assemble, troubleshoot, and support custom automated machinery, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment.

You will create 3D models, drawings, BOMs in SolidWorks, interpret customer specs, and collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Operations from concept through testing and deployment. Strong GD&T and shop-floor aptitude are valued.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in mechanical technology or related field.
• 2+ years CAD design and machine-building experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proficient with SolidWorks and GD&T practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, assemble, and support custom automated machinery and tooling.
• Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, BOMs, and drawings based on specs.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations from concept to testing.
• Support continuous improvement and participate in troubleshooting on the shop floor.
