Job summary

HES is seeking Custodians and General Cleaners in Dickson County Schools to perform cleaning and maintenance across facilities. The role covers sweeping, mopping, sanitizing restrooms, trash removal, window washing, and related duties in a fast-paced environment.

These positions are available as full-time and part-time, with 1st and 2nd shifts and school-hour schedules, including summers. Prior cleaning experience is helpful; a high school diploma is preferred but not required, and a fingerprint

Qualifications

• Must pass federal fingerprint background check.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push and pull.
• Lift up to 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
• Extensive walking and standing for the shift.

Job Skills / Requirements

General Cleaners are responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of all assigned areas. General Cleaners perform any combination of cleaning duties to maintain the daily upkeep and cleanliness of the facility.

Essential Functions: Sweeping, dusting, dust mopping, damp mopping, vacuuming, extracting carpet, stripping and waxing floors, removing trash, recycling, cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and locker rooms, polishing outside area within 10 feet of entryways, washing windows, cleaning of desks/walls/ furniture/ doors/ entry glass/ interior glass/counter tops/chalkboards/ whiteboards/blinds and light fixtures, and any other duties as directed by custodial supervisor or his/her designated representative.

Minimum QualificationsEducation: High school degree preferred but not required.
