Job summary

HES is hiring General Cleaners in the St. Louis area to maintain cleanliness and upkeep across facilities. You will perform varied cleaning tasks in a fast-paced environment and support the custodial team to ensure safe, sanitary, and welcoming spaces.

Education requirements include a preferred high school degree. A reliable transport method and ability to work in temperatures from hot to cold are valued traits for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Extracting carpet cleaning as needed to maintain areas.
• Stripping and waxing floors to preserve surfaces.
• Removing trash and recycling from all assigned areas.
• Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and locker rooms.
• Polishing exterior area within 10 feet of entry points.
• Washing windows and maintaining clean entrances.
• Handling snow and ice removal when required.
• Assisting custodial supervisor with daily tasks and safety.

Job Skills / Requirements

General Cleaners are responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of all assigned areas. General Cleaners perform any combination of cleaning duties to maintain the daily upkeep and cleanliness of the facility.

Essential Functions

• Extracting carpet
• Stripping and waxing floors
• Removing trash and recycling
• Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and locker rooms
• Polishing outside area within 10 feet of entryways
• Washing windows
• Removal or snow and ice
• Cleaning of desks/walls/furniture/doors/entry glass/interior glass/counter tops/chalkboards/whiteboards/blinds and light fixtures and any other duties as directed by the Custodial Supervisor or his/her designated representative

Job Requirements

• Team focused approach requiring ability to work with others and take direction
• Physically demanding, fast-paced environment requiring ability to work efficiently with attention to detail
• Reliable transportation
• Background check required
