Job summary

Koniag Government Services is hiring custodians for a union position. The Custodian reports to the Lead Custodian and maintains a safe, healthy environment across offices, restrooms, common areas, and exterior grounds.

The role includes general, specialized, restroom, and disinfection tasks, plus equipment care, exterior duties, and event support, all in line with federal cleaning protocols. High school diploma preferred; able to lift 50 lbs; strong written and verbal communication skills;

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Able to perform heavy cleaning duties such as floors, rugs, and walls cleaning.
• Experience in custodial care projects and able to lift 50 lbs.
• Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• General Cleaning: clean entrances, lobbies, corridors, offices, conference rooms, and work areas; empty trash; dust surfaces; vacuum; wash windows.
• Specialized Cleaning: monitor and maintain carpet and floor appearances; carpet spot/deep cleaning; scrub, buff, strip, and refinish floors.
• Restroom Maintenance: clean/sanitize restrooms; restock supplies.
• Disinfection: sanitize high-touch surfaces and common areas.
• Equipment Care: inspect equipment for cleanliness and perform minor repairs.
• Exterior Duties: remove debris and litter from grounds.
• Support Tasks: report issues; assist with events setup/cleanup.
• Compliance: follow federal facility cleaning protocols.
