Job summary

Koniag Government Services is hiring a Custodian in Havre, MT. This union position reports to the Lead Custodian and is responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy environment across offices, restrooms, common areas, and exterior grounds.

The Custodian will perform general and specialized cleaning, restroom maintenance, disinfection, and basic equipment care while following federal facility cleaning protocols and the CBA benefits package.

Qualifications

• Prefer high school diploma.
• Capable of performing heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, and washing walls.
• Experience in custodial care and able to lift 50 lbs.
• Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Reports to Lead Custodian.
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment across offices, restrooms, common areas, and exterior grounds.
• General Cleaning: entrances, lobbies, corridors, offices, conference rooms, and work areas; empty wastebaskets; dust surfaces; vacuum; wash windows.
• Specialized Cleaning: monitor/maintain carpet and floor appearance; deep cleaning; strip and refinishing floors.
• Restroom Maintenance: clean/sanitize restrooms; restock supplies.
• Disinfection: sanitize high-touch surfaces and common areas.
• Equipment Care: inspect and perform minor repairs/maintenance on equipment.
• Exterior Duties: remove debris and litter from grounds.
• Support Tasks: report maintenance issues or safety hazards; assist with events setup/cleanup.
• Compliance: follow federal facility cleaning protocols and regulations.
