Job summary

Quinnipiac University is seeking a Custodian/Trash Truck Driver to maintain university buildings, grounds, and related facilities. This union role carries an starting hourly rate of $21.83 with hours differing by season: academic year 7:30am–4:00pm Saturday–Wednesday; summer 6:00am–2:30pm Monday–Wednesday and 7:30am–4:00pm Saturday/Sunday.

The position requires CT Driver's License and prior custodial/maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, dust, mop, clean windows, and wash surfaces.
• Collect and dispose of rubbish.

• Grounds work around building vicinity.
• Unclog toilets, sinks, and showers.

• Academic year position hours are Saturday-Wednesday from7:30am-4:00pm.
• Summer hours are Saturday/Sunday from 7:30am-4:00pm andMonday-Wednesday from 6:00am-2:30pm.

Responsibilities:

• Sweep, dust, mop, clean windows, washes walls, cleanslavatories, polishes metal and wood, wash, strip, and waxfloors
• Collect and dispose of rubbish
• Lock and unlock premises; move furniture
• Aid in setting up for events as required
• Shovel snow and sand in the immediate area around doorways
• Grounds work around immediate vicinity of buildings
• Minor preventive maintenance inside and outside ofbuildings
• Use hand tools to facilitate cleaning
• Unclog toilets, sinks, and showers with the aid of aplunger
• Change ceiling tiles, (including cutting tiles by consent)
• Work from 8-ft ladder in order to facilitate cleaning
• Change incandescent and fluorescent light bulbs
• Spot painting (no patching)
• Platform cleaning by consent
• Other related work as required
• This position will drive the trash truck

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in maintenance and custodial dutiesrequired
• CT Driver's License required
