Job summary

WMJ Services is seeking a Custodian Team Lead in Grand Rapids, MI to supervise a nightly crew of 5+ members and ensure safe, high-quality janitorial services for commercial clients and schools. You will train staff, delegate tasks, monitor performance, and collaborate with clients to meet expectations.

Starting pay is based on experience, with a range of $16.50 to $19.00 per hour and a Monday–Friday schedule. Benefits include medical, life, dental, vision, paid vacation and holidays.

Qualifications

• Prior leadership experience supervising 5+ employees on a nightly basis
• Ability to lead a diverse team with clear direction
• Excellent interpersonal communication and customer-facing skills
• Skilled in training, task delegation and motivating teams to meet goals
• Familiarity with budgeting, labor forecasting and basic operational planning

Responsibilities

• Lead a nightly team of 5+ custodial staff to meet performance goals
• Train, delegate tasks and motivate team for consistency and quality
• Coordinate schedule and adjust for occasional extended hours
• Communicate with clients to ensure service standards and client directives
• Support budgeting and labor forecasting through efficient team management
