Job summary

Verde Clean is hiring a Custodian to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming spaces across our facilities in Palm Springs. You will perform cleaning tasks, stock restrooms, and support safety and security to create a positive environment for staff and visitors.

This full-time night shift (7pm-3:30am) offers a pay rate of $18 per hour and volunteers the opportunity to participate in our community-driven initiatives, reflecting our Safety, Sustainability, Social Impact, and Awesomeness values.

Qualifications

• At least one year of janitorial or cleaning experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and follow safety protocols.
• Ability to work independently and interact courteously with others.
• Physical ability to walk, stand, and lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning & maintenance: Sweep, mop, vacuum floors, wipe surfaces and disinfect restrooms.
• Restocking supplies and monitoring dispensers across the facility.
• Floor care: Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
• Safety & security: Identify hazards and report to supervisor; maintain a safe environment.
• Customer service: Provide courteous assistance to staff, visitors and team members.

What You'll Do

As a Custodian, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming space for everyone.

• Cleaning & Maintenance: Sweep, mop, vacuum floors, and wipe down surfaces, including desks, tables, and counters. You'll also clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
• Restocking Supplies: Keep restrooms stocked with essentials like toilet paper, soap, and paper towels. Ensure dispensers are filled and monitor supplies across the facility.
• Floor Care: Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
• Safety & Security: Identify safety hazards and report them to the supervisor. Maintain a secure and safe environment for building occupants.
• Customer Service: Provide courteous, helpful assistance to staff, visitors, and fellow team members, creating a positive and welcoming environment.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, and a team player. To succeed in this role, you should have:

• Experience: At least one year of janitorial or cleaning experience preferred.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Skills: Ability to use cleaning equipment and knowledge of safety protocols. Must be able to work independently and interact courteously with others.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to walk, stand, and lift up to 25 lbs. Must be comfortable using basic cleaning tools and equipment.
