Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Custodian/Security Guard II is responsible for janitorial and maintenance services of the clinic, overseeing traffic at the main entrance, providing information and assistance to patients, and maintaining safety. Responsibilities include opening, closing, and securing the building, assisting with construction and maintenance projects, and collaborating with staff under supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor. The role requires high customer service standards, excellent communication skills, and flexibility to work Saturdays as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Coordinate with supervisor on cleaning, maintenance, and special projects priorities.
2. Greet and assist visitors professionally, providing directions and support to ensure safety and efficient service.
3. Perform daily cleaning tasks including mopping, disinfecting bathrooms, and restocking supplies.
4. Manage waste disposal, recycling, and composting activities.
5. Clean windows and maintain biohazard waste protocols weekly.
6. Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors as needed; manage trash collection and ensure proper sanitation.
7. Document activities, monitor refrigerator and freezer temperatures, and assist with furniture setup.
8. Order supplies, maintain safety data sheets, and ensure OSHA and fire safety compliance.
9. Deliver mail, secure premises, and assist during emergencies and evacuations.
10. Report and address building damages or safety issues promptly.
11. Supervise repair and maintenance workers, participate in facility projects, and maintain equipment.

Security Duties

1. Patrol and monitor premises, document walkthroughs, and address suspicious behaviors.
2. Assist visitors, escort members and staff, and manage parking violations.
3. Secure entrances, assist in emergency evacuations, and maintain safety equipment.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. High school diploma or GED.
2. Annual OSHA and CPR training.
3. Possession or willingness to obtain Guard Card within 6 months.
4. Ability to follow instructions, demonstrate strong work ethic, and maintain good attendance.
5. Knowledge of the Bay Area Native American community and commitment to serving vulnerable populations.
6. Ability to work independently, lift 50 lbs, and have at least one year of maintenance experience.
