Job summary

County of Blair is seeking a full-time custodian for the second shift (7 a.m. to 3 p.m.) to maintain county buildings and grounds, ensuring a neat, safe environment for staff and the public.

Responsibilities include cleaning rooms and public areas, handling trash, floor care, and basic maintenance. Applicants should have a HS diploma or GED, be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and work extended hours including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Ability to work extended shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must sustain physical demands (lift up to 50 pounds, stand/walk most of shift).
• Attention to detail, customer service, diligence, initiative, and pride in work.

Responsibilities

• Clean meeting rooms, offices, public areas, and bathrooms.
• Remove recyclables and trash; dust, mop, sanitize, scrub, and sweep surfaces.
• Vacuum, shampoo, strip, wax, and buff floors; wash ceilings and windows.
• Replace light bulbs and batteries; restock supplies; set up/tear down facilities.
• Respond to off-hours calls; perform general maintenance and repairs; outdoor upkeep.
