Rockford Rescue Mission in Rockford, Illinois, is looking for a dedicated individual for cleaning and maintenance responsibilities. Cleaning Responsibilities
Perform general cleaning and janitorial duties in designated areas.
Clean and disinfect restrooms.
Wash windows.
Clean and disinfect kitchens, Great Room, dining area and break rooms.
Use floor machine to clean Great Room floor.
Vacuum and clean floors, rugs, furniture, and window dressings.
Empty trash containers.
Wipe and dust surfaces in rooms and cleans mirrors.
Grounds Maintenance
Assist in grounds’ care (mowing, weeding, raking, etc.) during the appropriate season.
Aid in snow removal.
Ensure that all Mission properties are clean and free of litter and debris.
Special Maintenance Areas
Assist with equipment maintenance, lighting, security and safety systems as needed.
Assist with facility and equipment needs for Development Department special events.
Notify Facilities Director if something is not working properly.
Strip, wax, buff and burnish VCT flooring in Great Room and Thrift Store as scheduled.
Miscellaneous Duties
Help with special pick-ups as assigned.
Be teachable and function as a team player.
Maintain a neat and orderly supply closet.
Ensure cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked.
Take inventory and inform Facilities Director of supplies needed.
Perform related work and other duties when required and as assigned.
Requirements
Education / Experience
Minimum requirement High School or GED.
Basic knowledge of electrical systems building and HVACR units, carpentry, and plumbing experience.
General experience in the maintenance, housekeeping and construction areas.
Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
Understanding of safety, security, and emergency procedures.
Physical Factors
Ability to perform projects that require strength and high levels of energy.
Frequent moving, pushing, pulling and climbing; frequent standing for extended periods of time.
Occasional lifting of 50-75 pounds.

Support and attend annual mandatory Evangelism In Service training to grow in knowledge of leading others to faith in Christ.
Participate in annual spiritual growth training through organization selected curriculum.
