Job summary

The Dayton Area School Consortium is hiring a full-time custodian for Xenia-area schools. You will perform custodial work to maintain cleanliness, safety, and the appearance of buildings, grounds, and contents after school hours.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will handle routine maintenance, document conditions, and communicate needs. This position requires reliable attendance, physical capability, and compliance with background checks and training requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be 18+ with valid driver's license.
• Able to use email and basic computer tasks.
• Ability to lift 80 pounds and climb ladders.
• Background check and training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial work for building, contents, and grounds.
• Ensure routine care, maintenance, and protection.
• Prepare reports and communicate conditions to supervisor.

Job description

The vacancy listed below is posted in compliance with the negotiated agreement between the Xenia Education Support Professionals and the Xenia Community Schools Board of Education. Salary is in line with respective salary schedule.

Reports to: Director of Operations. Status: Full Time - 260 days. Hourly Rate: $19.36-$22.58. Hours: 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm.

General Description

Perform custodial work required for the routine care, maintenance, protection, and preservation of the assigned building, its contents, and grounds.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 18 years of age and have and maintain a valid driver's license
• Be proficient in technology that is necessary for normal job duties/responsibilities (i.e., e-mail, website access, etc.)
• Ability to make clear and comprehensive reports
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic
• Ability to use a hand cart from upper to lower floor levels and from lower to upper floor levels
• Ability to lift and carry eighty (80) pounds
• Ability to climb thirty-five (35) foot ladders or scaffolding
• Take pride in personal appearance and maintain good personal hygiene
• Good health, high moral character, and good attendance record
• Must obtain and maintain Bloodborne Pathogens, asbestos, and chemical use training
• Must complete Hepatitis B vaccination series (3) or sign a waiver
• Must meet the legal requirements relative to a criminal background check
