Job summary

Xenia Community Schools Shawnee Elementary School in Xenia, Ohio is seeking a Custodian for the 2:30 pm–11:00 pm shift. This full-time position, 260 days per year, reports to the Director of Operations and includes health, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits.

The role requires maintaining clean facilities and ensuring safety and readiness of classrooms and common areas. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, be 18 or older with a valid driver’s license, and

Job Description

The vacancy listed below is posted in compliance with the negotiated agreement between the Xenia Education Support Professionals and the Xenia Community Schools Board of Education.
Salary is in line with respective salary schedule.

Reports to: Director of Operations
Status: Full Time - 260 days
Benefits include:Health, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance
Hourly Rate:- $19.36-$22.58
Hours: 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm

General Description:
Perform custodialwork required for the routine care, maintenance, protection, and preservation of the assigned building, its contents, and grounds.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 18 years of age and have and maintain a valid driver's license
• Be proficient in technology that is necessary for normal job duties/responsibilities (i.e., e-mail, website access, etc.)
• Ability to make clear and comprehensive reports
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic
• Ability to use a hand cart from upper to lower floor levels and from lower to upper floor levels
• Ability to lift and carry eighty (80) pounds
• Ability to climb thirty-five (35) foot ladders or scaffolding
• Take pride in personal appearance and maintain good personal hygiene
• Good health, high moral character, and good attendance record
• Must obtain and maintain Bloodborne Pathogens, asbestos, and chemical use training
• Must complete Hepatitis B vaccination series (3) or sign a waiver
• Must meet the legal requirements relative to a criminal background check
