Responsibilities

• Safety first mentality in all tasks.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, strip and polish floors.
• Clean and maintain carpeted areas and wash walls, windows, stairways and woodwork.
• Dust and polish furniture and equipment; move and arrange furniture as needed.
• Restroom cleaning and restocking; trash removal inside and outside the building.
• Support recycling efforts by segregating recyclables for collection.

Position: Custodian-Part Time

ABOUT US

Packaging Services Industries, Inc., began production in 1976 and represents a family of privately owned businesses located in Maryland (MD) and Pennsylvania (PA).

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a person with Custodial experience to work in our Williamsport, MD plant. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of custodial experience in an industrial setting. We are looking for self-motivated individual.. This is a part time position, with the core schedule of Monday, Wednesday and Friday, approximately 23-27 hours a week. (exact hours and days to be determined)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safety First Mentality
• Sweep, mop, scrub, strip and polish floors
• Clean and maintain carpeted areas
• Wash walls, windows, stairways and woodwork (which may require working from a ladder)
• Dust and polish furniture and equipment
• Move and arrange furniture and equipment
• Clean, sanitize and deodorize restrooms and restock restroom supplies
• Empty wastebaskets and remove trash inside the building and also around the outside of the building
• Empty containers of paper and other materials, set aside for the County recycling program, bring recyclables to the designated collection area and place in appropriate storage containers
• Maintain cleanliness of employee break rooms
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• General knowledge of computers

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 1 +year experience in a manufacturing/warehouse setting
• Knowledge of proper types of custodial equipment, cleaning agents, sanitizing chemicals and protective gear to use in all types of cleaning work, and the ability to use them safely
• Knowledge of (or ability to learn) the use and operation of a standard buffer, vacuum cleaner, and other related equipment
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Physical ability for constant walking, moving, reaching and making repetitive motions; frequently stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing and pulling up to and over 40 pounds.
• Employee will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection and protective footwear
