Job summary

The City of Irving is seeking a custodial worker to maintain cleanliness and minor upkeep of City facilities. Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, waxing and polishing floors, cleaning restrooms, dusting furniture, washing windows, and arranging equipment for meetings. English communication ability is required; six months of custodial experience preferred.

Hours may vary and include evenings and weekends. Pay grade GG07 with a full pay range of $15.33–$21.60 per hour.

This position is responsible for performing a range of custodial duties related to the care, cleaning and minor maintenance of assigned buildings and facilities. Duties include sweeping, mopping, waxing, stripping and polishing floors and carpets; maintaining inventory of supplies for assigned facility; cleaning, sanitizing and stocking restroom facilities; dusting and polishing furniture; washing windows, walls, mirrors and ceilings; breaking down boxes and emptying recycling bins; and arranging furniture and equipment for meetings and functions. Six months of related custodial experience, and formal or informal education and training which ensures the ability to communicate in English at a level necessary for successful job performance are required. Hours and work location may vary, and schedule may include evenings and weekends. Applicants must submit hours of availability with application.
