Job Title: Custodian Part-Time

Salary: 16.82/hourly

Location: Bremerton

About the Position

Maintain clean stores, buildings, and other facilities.

Essential Functions

1. Clean and sanitize restrooms, dust and wipe furniture, empty wastebaskets and trash containers, handle recycle materials.
2. Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, etc.
3. Strip, clean, buff, and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
4. Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools; buffers, vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, and furniture.
5. Follow instructions regarding the safe use of chemicals and supplies.
6. Perform cleaning and related activities such as removing snow or debris from sidewalks and stairs in areas within sixteen feet of the building.
7. Demonstrate safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture; report any potential hazards or accidents.
8. Participate in annual safety training.
9. Build and maintain internal and external customer satisfaction.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Physical Abilities:

Lifting and carrying 30 – 40 pounds; developed fine motor control (grasp, handle, manipulate objects with fingers); standing for long periods of time; frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing; climbing ladders. Able to travel across a variety of surfaces (stairs, ramps, uneven terrain), gear includes safety harness and protective clothing.
