Job description

POSITION TITLE: Shelter Custodian

UNIT: Bremerton Corps

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

STATUS: Part-Time, 25 Hours per week

PAY: $19.24

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
  • Must be a team player committed to assisting those in need.
  • Must be sensitive to program participants dealing with multiple issues and stresses.
  • Must pass a criminal background check, driving record check, and have a valid driver's license.
  • Understanding of commercial cleaning products and procedures.
  • Food handler's card and knowledge of HACCP, FIFO.
Summary of Job Duties
  • Maintain and clean premises as outlined in the daily check sheet, including:
    • Using floor cleaning machines on all hard surface floors
    • Vacuuming all carpeted areas
    • General dusting and cleaning
    • Sanitizing touchable surfaces
    • Cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms
    • Replenishing paper goods as needed
    • Emptying trash and replacing bags
    • General pickup of trash on grounds
    • Cleaning refrigerator, stove, microwave, countertops, floors in kitchenette upstairs
    • Cleaning windows, windowsills, baseboards, stairways, elevator
    • Cleaning tables, chairs, and mats
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, reach overhead, kneel, and/or twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
  • Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects such as a pallet jack.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
