Job Title: Custodian - Part-time

Job Summary

Responsible for daily cleaning and general maintenance of the Ballwin Event Center and The Ballwin Golf Shop. Performs manual work including, but not limited to, room set-ups, light maintenance, and general care of cleaning equipment.

Essential Job Functions

• Responsible for the daily cleaning and maintenance of the Ballwin Event Center and Golf Shop facilities to ensure the safety and enjoyment of the public and City staff.
• Maintain proper cleaning procedures and safe use of all equipment.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, buffing, waxing, window washing, and cleaning/preventative maintenance of cleaning equipment, along with emptying trash and cleaning bathrooms.
• Coordinate and cooperate with co-workers and employees to complete job functions safely and efficiently.
• Communicate effectively with employees and the public.
• Prioritize cleaning tasks and follow an effective preventive maintenance program.
• Coordinate cleaning and setup for Event Center rentals as needed.
• Assist with enforcing building policies and supporting special events.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Work professionally with the public and City staff.
• Knowledge of general cleaning practices and procedures.
• Work independently and efficiently without routine supervision.
• Maintain a positive image for the City of Ballwin and Parks and Recreation Department.
• Handle interruptions during high-volume periods while meeting deadlines.
• Communicate effectively.
• Perform physical labor outdoors and indoors in various weather conditions.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Understand and adhere to safety guidelines.

Equipment Used

Vacuum cleaner, small hand tools, scrubbers, buffer, mop, broom, cleaning chemicals, and supplies.
