Description

The Pandey Lab at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center (St. Louis, MO) is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill a part-time (29 hours per week) Research Technician

Responsibilities:

• DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, RT-PCR, seed collection and plating and plant care
• General lab duties such as basic lab preparation and upkeep, supply stocking and tracking, media preparation
• Assist with lab and greenhouse work
• Provide staff support

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Some independence in planning and performing routine experiments, data analysis and interpretation of results
• Effective writing and communication skills, and good record keeping
• Familiarity with the Microsoft Suite of products, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Basic understanding of sterile technique and ability to maintain a clean, organized work environment
• Ability to work within a team setting
• Ability to manage a variety of tasks within the working hours
