General Purpose
Maintain the location’s interior and/or exterior in a clean, sanitary, and safe manner (e.g., offices, warehouses, plant/manufacturing areas).
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and clean internal building appearance through good housekeeping, organization, and management of walking surfaces.
- Follow work schedules to complete all required cleaning and sanitizing, and complete non-routine cleaning according to specified job orders.
- Perform custodian duties such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors, picking up debris, emptying trash cans and recycling, and general cleaning; may include using equipment like floor sweepers, polishers, vacuum cleaners, dusters, forklifts, and company vehicles.
- Maintain restrooms, locker rooms, breakrooms, and footbaths in a sanitary manner; replenish supplies and paper products as needed.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning and other supplies; notify appropriate contacts or update supply sheets for reordering.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety of the exterior of the building; maintain outdoor facilities and grounds, possibly operating power equipment for grounds maintenance.
- Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests.
- Use chemicals to sanitize and clean the facility following safety guidelines.
- Perform related duties as requested by environmental health and safety (EHS), maintenance, management, or other staff, including coordinating inspections and events.
- Distribute personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
- Follow all applicable laws, regulations, safety requirements, and wear proper PPE.
- Implement DFA GMPs and work in accordance with all corporate, food safety, quality, and sanitation standards; report quality issues to QA personnel.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Janitorial or cleaning experience preferred.
- Powered Industrial Forklift certification and a valid driver’s license required during employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals.
- Ability to work safely, following policies, procedures, and laws.
- Ability to follow directions and carry out instructions with minimal supervision.
- Ability to write legibly for record keeping.
- Ability to perform basic math.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Willingness to work occasional overtime as needed.
- Basic skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook) are advantageous.
Additional Information: This is an entry-level, full-time position in management and manufacturing within the dairy product industry, with a starting wage of $19.67 per hour.
